Taking into account the usefulness and importance of libraries for building a healthy society, Shishuvihar has given prominence to library activities since the very beginning. With the idea of ​​inculcating reading habits in children from childhood, a library is set up at Shishuvihar with various related activities.

Shishuvihar’s library contains more than 17,000 different books on 15 thematic topics . More than 2500 readers take advantage of it every year. The library continues to be enriched by the purchase and gift of new books every year.

Shishuvihar has been instrumental in revamping the libraries of the District Corporation schools of Bhavnagar where a total of 64,800 books have been placed in 442 Schools in the presence of the Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Smt. Kamlaji . An important function of Shishuvihar under library activity is to provide more than 450 children's literature books at a cost of Rs. 8000 / - to Bhavnagar Primary Education Committee and District Panchayat Education Committee so that their library keeps running.

To keep the teachers and children upbreast with the happenings, various repetitive workshops are being conducted. For teachers, the workshop teaches library management, children management and so on. To make sure that the children read through the year, story telling sessions are held, drawing competitions are held based on the stories they read and a yearly calendar is being printed since 2009 with the best 12 selected pictures and these calendars are distributed pan India.

Shishuvihar’s Primary Education Committee has undertaken an initiative since 2010 under which the teachers of the Government Primary School of Bhavnagar collect information of extremely underprivileged children or orphans and 1650 to 1700 such children are provided with school kits.

According to child educators and child psychologists, the most critical time of a person's life development is between the ages of 0 and 5 years. 80% of what a person learns throughout his life is received during this period. Preprimary have been set up by the Integrated Child Development Department of the State of Gujarat to implement the basic work of child education in these excellent times for the sensory education and holistic development of children.

During the last five years, Shishuvihar has provided various educational charts to 316 Pre – primary schools of Bhavnagar which helps a child understand different animals, birds, vegetables, fruits, patterns, words, Numbers , children's stories and nursery rhymes booklets as well as musical instruments.

Along with this, continuous teacher training workshops have been conducted for the Aaganwadis teachers and Kindergarten teachers where they are taught how to engage a child in learning through playful activities, they’re taught how to teach the children through action songs with music and words and dance, art and crafts, following the montessori method.

Empowerment of women is essential for the development of a nation. It is important for Girls to be educated and to have financial independence. Today, in the poorest and most backward areas of society, daughters are not educated. Social stigma along with factors such as Economic hardships deprive these women from the opportunities. Shishuvihar provides financial assistance to Std. 10th, 12th, undergraduates and postgraduates with their fees to ensure that no girl is deprived of education due to socio-financial difficulties.
