Women of Anand Mangal Mandal Parivar initiated Sewing training as part of forming a self-reliant society.The training of sewing was not only for employment or frugal practices but as a creative art specialising in the development of embroidery of decorative materials and new uses of textiles in the market too. Sewing has been able to provide good employment opportunities to women especially who can devote 3-4 hours a day for such work. Looking at the turn around ratio, training classes for Men were also started later. At Shishuvihar, everyone who is interested is enrolled for the tailoring training. People are provided with a guide to stitching booklets and the ones who are not in a position to pay the fees are also sponsored for the training. The ones who complete the entire training with 100% attendance are provided with a sewing machine at the end of the training so that they can work for their own from their own vicinity. In house employment is also provided to the trained women by giving them small home orders of stitching the upholstery, home linen, and similar such artefacts.Various Competitions are also organised and exhibited for the promotion of the work done by the trainees.

What is heard and seen is not registered for a long time but what is experienced through activity is never forgotten. When a child engages in the learning process on his own, it enables a child's body and mind development. Children are in constant need of toys and toys are an excellent tool for a child’s growth but the children of the underprivileged are deprived of these.

And hence, to cater to this need, Shishuvihar came up with a place where children can play in the play house filled with more than 70 equipment’s along with toys like cycling, driving cart, pedal- rickshaw, motorcar, balancing and many more. The toy house periodically hosts programs of nursery rhymes and children's stories. Art and craft training is imparted every Saturday at Bal Kendra.

Such activities not only entertain children but also help in their overall growth and development which includes physical, mental, emotional growth along with motor skills and cognitive skill development.

The whole idea behind the Scouts and Guides training is to contribute to the development of children in gaining their full physical, mental, emotional, social and intellectual as individual human beings, as responsible individuals. Scouts and Guides, build a sense of Confidence, self-esteem, learning life skills, leadership skills, team work, adventures, education, communication skills are all a part of it. They are being taught various skills to improve their lifestyle by performing various tasks to build these skills and make themselves stronger.

With Shree Maan bhai’s efforts, imparting this training along with Shishuvihar, began in 247 other schools also of the district.

• More than 14 scout guides of the organisation have been honoured by the India Scout Guide Federation with various awards.
• More than 62 Scouts and Guides of the organisation have been honoured with the President's Award and State Award.
• More than 12 Scouts and Guides of the institute are trained and accomplished in Himalayan Wood Badge.
• More than 400 Scouts and Guides from Shishuvihar have participated in more than 20 rallies in Gujarat and achieved various awards.
• More than 10 Scout and Guide rallies have been held in Bhavnagar district. In this more than 2000 participants took part.

Disaster management training is meant to build the competencies for disaster response in people by imoulding their preparedness for response during the times of a mishap on all levels before and after disasters.

Shishuvihar has been training people and children of various industries, schools and colleges in disaster management and has been imparting first aid training too as a quick response to the natural or man-made hazards.

Shishuvihar’s training on disaster management is considered as one of the best serving training in the state of Gujarat with the area and the beneficiaries covered till date. This training is imparted with live human models and a special area in the campus has been dedicated for the same.

In 1939, one single swing was placed on a barren land with a motive that children should be able to play and exert physically where they bond with other children too. It was a waste land of Bhavnagar which with Shree Maanbhai’s efforts got converted into a place which enables the kids to come and play and recreate themselves into better humans with all the advantages that outdoor play offers a person.

Today, this area holds a huge amount of play equipments like 170 swings, 45 slides, 51 ascent descent stairs, 11 balances and wheelbarrow ,5 cage of labyrinth,16 balance track,30 pull-ups , 5 Hurdles trap, Mirror house, 8 stone charts are there where children can sit and play. In addition to this, there’s a traffic park , a skating ring , a railway track and an artificial cave track , and a wall for adventure sports. This is spread across a vast area covered with medicinal trees and plants which also imparts the knowledge of plants and trees to children.

About 314 Anganwadis of Bhavnagar, Kindergartens, Primary Schools Children visit Shishuvihar as a destination for their picnics. Children from the entire district come to play with their parents from nearby villages. Hence, it can be said that Shishuvihar has played a major role for a lot of children and their parents being a happy and cheerful memory of their childhood. Shishuvihar playground is like a lifeline that keeps the childhood alive.

Education is measured in terms of degrees and percentages, but talent of child is measured in terms of one's thoughts, statements, and actions.’ Education is not just to gain bookish knowledge but true education is that which nurtures one’s powers, ability to develop continuously and teaches the art of living. The process of education begins before birth and continues till death. In this sense extra education in addition to school – colleges are in the true sense Art of living a life.

Co Curricular activities like sports, music, dance, art and craft, theatre, such life skills are not given vital importance in school learning. Children do not have the opportunity to develop their innate abilities at home or at school in these situations. As a solution to the current situation, Shishuvihar started the work of educating the students through scout-guide training from the very beginning of the institute. By organising training camps in every summer vacation which imparts basic training of Drawing, Art and Craft, Spoken English, Skating, Mehndi, Flower Making, Glass Painting, Fabric Painting, Card Making, Reading, Music, Dance, Basic Electrician Training, Basics of beauty parlour, and also holds various excursion camps. Experiences and practical learning through these activities are an important part of the education system that Shishuvihar has been imparting since ages.
